Return to Work.
January 14, 2008 – 10:17 pmToday was my first day back at work. It’s my second season working for the man and I’m pretty happy with that. I got my W2 in the mail and it looks like I’ll get a sizable refund. Luckily, I can file pretty easily.
If I learned one thing from my furlough it’s that I have no time management skills. I had 48 days of uninterrupted freedom and I spent almost all of it playing Warcraft and watching TV. I was so sure that I would take on some big projects and get some writing done. I didn’t even blog! Oh well. I guess I just need to accept that for now I’m a 40 hour a week guy. If I want to make more money, it’s going to have to be in my spare time.
Another funny thing I noticed is that when I am at work I LOVE podcasts and can’t get enough. However, when I was off work (a perfect time to record my own podcast) didn’t listen to any podcasts and generally forgot about them altogether.
It’s hard to admit that rut and routine actually make me a more productive person. Sad, but true.
