Things Have Totally Picked Up.

I’m no longer sick! Yay! It’s a relief to be able to breath through my nose again and not feel like my head is stuffed with cotton. When I would speak with someone, all I could hear was my own voice and the person I was talking with sounded like they were a million miles away. Of course now Corin has it, but it seems like she got a weakened strain or she is more resilient to it. At least she isn’t as miserable as I was.

One of the taboo subjects of this blog is my work. People that know me know what I do and that’s fine, but I’m not at liberty to discuss it. *Ahem*. Anyway, I got a long deserved $1.75 per hour raise. In the end its not really a raise because I should have been at this pay rate all along. I’m also fighting for back-pay for the year I spent at the reduced pay. I’m not holding my breath, but at least I got my pay corrected.

Today Corin’s mom dropped off Skippy, her old ‘96 Ford Escort hatchback. She’s giving it to us, because she bought a truck and doesn’t need it. It’s in surprisingly good shape. A few dings and dents, but the AC works and it runs. It may have a transmission problem, but the price was right and I would rather fix up a free car than pay $500 to $1000 for the privilege. The best part is that the stickers are all up to date and it was registered in our county, so the title transfer should be simple. I’ve been having issues getting my van registered. There are a few things that need to be fixed and I haven’t had a whole lot of luck getting them fixed myself. A second car will make it easier to work on the first car. Things are finally getting better.
