July 27, 2003 – 11:01 amLet the money come in! My Exalted Angel is up to $7.00. I hope that this continues. Probably not, but that means I can reinvest that in another 2 packs and get some more product to move. I just need to look at this like a coke dealer. Raise a little capital, buy a little product, raise a little more capital, buy some more product. I just have to resist getting high off my own supply.
I was on the bus looking at the new cards I bought, when this guy (who I’m pretty sure was a squatter) says, “Hey! You got magic cards?”
“Yeah, I collect,” I said.
“Can I see?”
I had looked at them already and knew that there wasn’t anything TOO valuable. I let him look. I was a little surprised to see him handle them like they were made of gold. He looked through them, reading every card and gave them back nice and easy. Then another guy says, “Do you want to buy a collection of those?”
I say, “Well what do you have?”
It turns out he has most of the first expansions: 4th Edition, Revised, Unlimited, Chronicles, Antiquities, The Dark, etc.
He wants $500 for the lot. If they were in good shape (EX-NM) I would consider buying them. Especially if there are a few Black Lotai. They are being on eBay right now at $200+ a piece. I could make my money back instantly. Then probably make enough off of the rest to start a proper business. Alas, $500 is a pretty large amount to risk. I think I will probably look at his collection and see what it is like.
Odd, no? Two magic people on one bus. Four if you count Corin and I. It was a measurable percentage.
